Kern Medical’s partnership with Surgical Affiliates supports the hospital’s commitment to providing the highest quality of emergency surgical care as the only trauma center serving patients in California’s southern Central Valley. Through the partnership, Kern Medical’s excellent standard of care will be enhanced by ensuring patients have 24/7 access to the highest level of acute care and trauma surgical services supported by Surgical Affiliates’ proven expertise in emergency surgical care.

The enhanced suite of surgical services to be provided by Surgical Affiliates includes a dedicated, in-house team of board-certified trauma and acute care surgeons who will implement evidence-based guidelines in providing round-the-clock care to patients entering the Emergency Department as well as a fully staffed follow-up clinic offering post-discharge care to patients. The surgical team will provide patients with a systematic, personalized approach to care that is the cornerstone of the Surgical Affiliates acute care surgical model. In addition, Kern Medical’s experienced surgical teams will be supported and led by a dedicated medical director focused on maintaining high-quality standards and efficient clinic operations.
